Antarctic Punch-up!
This headline just cracked me up!

(Elves would have been an easy gag, but like polar bears, they are only found at the North Pole.)

This is one of the coolest gifts I received this Christmas!
" The Completely MAD DON MARTIN " from Running Press.
Don Martin was one of my all-time favorite cartoonists in MAD magazine. I loved the way he drew his characters; even his beautiful ladies had their big, flat feet bent at the toes!
And then there was the sound effects he created. I used to read his comics out loud, when my brother wasn't in the room, and laugh at the crazy sounds coming from the page.
Get this while you can.
Amazon, Barnes and Noble, ( COSTCO sells this at an unbelievable discount!)

Friday Freak #1
Today I thought that I would start a new feature.
Every Friday I will draw a sketch and post it as a " Friday Freak ".
Today I drew up the first thing that came to mind, and then did a fast
color in Photoshop.
When I was finished, the title popped into my head:
" Everybody run, the rutabaga's got a gun ! "

Seasons Greetings Part 2
Finished the e-card for the client. I think it is some of my best work. With character designs, storyboarding, and some minor tweaks, this took me a week to do.
I forgot to add that I also chose the music and sfx.
Once the card was done, the client wanted it shortened to under a minute.
Shamus Culhane, an animator from Disney's golden days, used to say.." that if you have to cut, cut big."
So, while I loved the whole feel of the entire song, and the way the elves seemed to be actually thinking, it wasn't what the client wanted.
I cut time from the beginning and end of the song, and took out some of the business with the elves.
But here is a link to the long version.

More Greetings of the Season!
Always a pleasure to post something new. I have another job creating a Flash Holiday card.
I love doing these. Here is a shot from the card in progress.
The frame is something new I experimented with.
It's a combination of Flash and Photoshop.
What you are seeing is the Lead Elf looking at a blueprint.
When I finish this card, ( after I get the ok from the client), I'll post it.
Gotta keep out of trouble to keep the work coming.
Oh, before I forget. I just wanted to say that I actually have a product in the Fooksie shop.
Perfect for all of the coffee drinkers out there.
One more thing before I get back to the North Pole:
Last night I had the pleasure of watching the Magoo Christmas Carol on DVD.
What a fantastic piece of work.
As I read the credits, I was amazed that only six animators were listed. Only six?
Didn't the in-betweeners and background artists, etc., get any credit?
Or, did those six artists bang that special out?
I remember having crazy workloads like that during Laser show production.
Anyhow, get a copy of Magoo, and buy a cup, : ).
I gotta get back to work.

Welcome!!!
First post of the NEW BLOG!
First off, I would like to thank Craig of c-eye.net, for helping me get this off the ground.
I had an old Flash site, and it was due for a makeover.
While this blog will be accessed by friends, family, and employers, I promise to have something for everyone.
Sketches, anecdotes, notes on projects I am working on,etc.
Comments are welcome, but please, no profanity. If I can clean up my language, so can you!
I will also do my best to update often.
So, I thank you for stopping by, and let's get the ball rolling with a riddle from Highlights
Magazine:
Q.What do you get when you cross a turtle with a porcupine?
A. A slow poke.
